How to Access cPanel Securely

How to Access cPanel Securely

Overview

Your cPanel dashboard is where you can manage your hosting environment, email accounts, domains, and files. RPV Websites provides secure, encrypted access to cPanel directly through your Client Area, so you never need to share or store passwords manually.

Accessing cPanel Through Your Client Area

  1. Log in to your Client Area at billing.rpvwebsites.co.uk.
  2. Go to Services → My Services.
  3. Select the hosting package you want to manage.
  4. Click the “Login to cPanel” button — this will securely authenticate you without exposing your credentials.

Access Levels by Hosting Plan

Access to cPanel depends on your hosting package:

  • Basic Plan: Includes limited access to cPanel with permissions restricted to the Sitejet website builder. This helps ensure a simplified experience for new users. If you’d like to set up an email account, please contact our team at hello@rpvwebsites.co.uk and we’ll configure this for you.
  • Business and Enterprise Plans: Include full cPanel access, allowing management of email accounts, file directories, domains, and more.

Direct Access (Optional)

If you prefer to access cPanel directly, you can log in via your hosting URL:

https://yourdomain.com:2083

Use the username and password provided when your hosting account was created. We recommend storing these securely using a password manager if you choose direct login.

Security Recommendations

  • Always access cPanel via https:// to ensure an encrypted connection.
  • Never share your cPanel login credentials by email or ticket.
  • Log out when you finish managing your site, especially on shared or public devices.
  • Use the built-in File Manager instead of third-party FTP tools where possible, as it’s encrypted and more secure.

Troubleshooting Access

  • If the login button doesn’t work, clear your browser cache or try a private window.
  • Ensure your domain’s DNS is pointing correctly to RPV Websites’ nameservers.
  • If you see a certificate warning, make sure you’re using https:// and not http://.
  • If the issue continues, contact us at hello@rpvwebsites.co.uk for assistance.

Next Steps

Once logged in, you can manage files, create email accounts (if applicable), set up subdomains, and more. If you’re unsure where to start, read the next guide: “Managing Files and Backups.”
